Team member profiles

Meet the team currently behind Caregivers Link. We are a start-up social venture organisation with a vision to develop and build support, and in the long term create solutions and services, for informal caregivers and caregiving families. Between us we have varying degrees of experience as caregivers and as care receivers.

Shikha Aleya
Focuses on health, disability, gender, sexuality and rights issues. Founding partner at Caregivers Link, consultant with TARSHI (Talking about Reproductive and Sexual Health Issues), and with the Pune based Bapu Trust for Research on Mind and Discourse, focusing on mental health and psychosocial issues. A post-graduate from XLRI (1989), graduated from Hindu college, Delhi University(1987). Shikha has spent over a couple of decades writing for the corporate and development sectors, and scripted for the television industry. She has travelled across India and neighbouring countries collecting and telling stories, some of them untold, others lost to history. These include explorations of the lives: of women pathbreakers from centuries past, of social entrepreneurs today who are creating shifts in our approach to life on the planet, of ordinary people, of children, of animals, who fall through the cracks of systems of service, support and protection, or experience life on the outside, vulnerable to multiple risks and threat. As a consultant in the NGO sector, Shikha has worked with numerous organizations including Breakthrough Trust, Ashoka: Innovators for the Public and CHILDLINE India Foundation among others. A search for support programmes in India for families impacted by psychosocial disability, led to studying support available in India for informal family caregivers across care circumstances. Her number is 91-9819842520 and her email is

We are happy for the support and inputs we have received at various points in time since Caregivers Link began – and would like to mention and acknowledge some of those who helped start us off, and some of whom continue to lend a hand very often. A special word of thanks and great appreciation to Kamal Kumar and to Ranjan Chopra, both of whom patiently and generously give us their time, energy and professional expertise on the matter of accounts and compliance.
