National Handicapped Financial Development Corporation
(Set up in 1997 by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India )
From our reading of the website
Provides information on loans available for persons with disabilities and their families. Has downloads and a lot of information on schemes, eligibility, procedures, whom to contact and related such information. The language and terminology used on the website does not feel very contemporary, but the site has a lot of content. Loan applications are submitted through State Channeling Agencies (SCA’s) which are authorised to approve loans of up to 1.5 lakhs, while anything above that has to go to NHFDC which is Faridabad based. They also have a micro finance scheme implemented through NGOs.
